About Us
Zen Fertility Center to more accurately reflect our true focus in helping men and women overcome infertility - pure and simple. The emotional and physical challenges that come alongside male infertility and female infertility can be daunting which is why it is so important to not only have a team with expertise but also with compassion and a clear focus on YOU. Indeed, the word "Zen" refers to having a concentrated focus on the here and now without external distractions. Our clients and their desires for a family is our focus.
Zen Fertility Center's proven program has helped hundreds of San Diego women conceive in the quickest, healthiest, and most cost effective manner. Our San Diego fertility specialists have demonstrated expertise in natural and western medical fertility treatments and personally tailor a custom plan for conception just for you. Consistently, patients have told us that our approach is much more holistic and comprehensive than they have encountered at any other acupuncture fertility clinic or standard fertility clinic. Issues that we help our patients overcome are unexplained infertility, no periods, male infertility, irregular periods, endometriosis, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), unexplained female infertility, recurrent miscarriage, high FSH, low AMH, advanced maternal age, low ovarian reserve and stress related male and female infertility.
We work in tandem with medical doctors to combine the most gentle and effective approaches into one cohesive program to achieve a healthy, natural solution for each patient’s individual fertility achievement scenario.
In addition, within Zen Fertility Center, we have assembled a Zen Round Table. Our four acupuncturists regularly meet together to collaborate about fertility patient cases in order to maximize our collective experience of almost 40 years in getting the best results. No other San Diego clinic operates in this way and this is how we are able to achieve such excellent results with our fertility acupuncture treatments.
In fact in 2011 and 2012, Zen Fertility Center was recognized by the U.S Commerce Association with the “Best of Local Business” award within San Diego Acupuncture Clinics. Awards are made to local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.
Note regarding our education and licensing:
EDUCATION: At Zen Fertility Center, our San Diego team is comprised of licensed acupuncturists, each with no less than a Master’s Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine. The four year degree program includes training in natural therapies such as acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and nutritional guidance. Acupuncture and Chinese herbs are the core of the Master’s program so we study those topics intensively for all 4 years, every semester.
LICENSING: Standards for certification to become an Acupuncturist in the state of California are quite strict. Practitioners must excel on the licensing exam administered by the Acupuncture Board which in turn is overseen by the Department of Consumer Affairs. This is the same body that oversees the Medical Board of California, the Board of Registered Nursing, and the Physician’s Assistant committee. In addition, to maintain one’s license, an acupuncture practitioner must complete 50 continuing education credits every 2 years.
RECOGNITION: In addition to our recent recognition by the U.S. Commerce Association, Zen Fertility Center has also been acknowledged as 2007's #1 Acupuncture Clinic in San Diego and 2008 & 2009's Top 2 Acupuncture Clinic by 10 News A-list with 157 5-Star Recommendations.

Heidi Brockmyre, L.Ac. (Licensed Acupuncturist)
Heidi's love for acupuncture and herbal medicine began while living in Korea and traveling throughout Asia and Central America. During her travels, she studied martial arts, Western and Eastern herbology, and gained knowledge of Traditional Mayan Medicine from indigenous healers of Belize.
As a mother herself, Heidi takes great joy in helping her patients to achieve their dreams of creating a family. She is dedicated to supporting healthy pregnancies from start to finish. Her knowledge and experience in acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and Zen Fertility Yoga comes from advanced post-graduate training, a mentorship with fertility expert, Julie Chang, L.Ac., and specialized training to prevent recurrent miscarriage, support Assisted Reproductive Techniques, and help patients to conceive naturally. Heidi has successfully helped numerous patients grow their families.
Heidi compassionately supports her patients throughout their struggle to conceive. To further this effort, she developed a program to help patients process the mental and emotional stress associated with infertility thereby increasing their chances of conceiving. The program includes reflective exercises, fertility meditations and visualizations, relationship exercises, and Zen Fertility Yoga for improving reproductive health. All of this helps participants to find joy and peace during their journey toward fertility.
